Our thoughts go out to you!

McQueen will be in our hearts forever! he made outstanding designs that no one will ever be able to out do!

-Leah

here is some information that i found on comcast.net homepage...
Expect to see a lot more black during Fashion Week. Specifically, more avant-garde, über-fashionable and trendsetting black, in honor of British fashion designer and icon Alexander McQueen, who was found dead this morning in his London home.

"At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family," said a statement released by his office, referring to him by his real name.

Specifically, his camp is not confirming or commenting on widespread reports that the 40-year-old committed suicide , though Scotland Yard said it is not treating the death as suspicious.

"Lee's family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news and we hope the media will respect this."

The death of the go-to celebrity designer comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and, perhaps tellingly, just days after the death of his beloved mother.

"I'm letting my followers know the my mother passed away yesterday if it she had not me nor would you RIP mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx," the designer wrote on his since shuttered Twitter account last Wednesday.

"But life must go on!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A few days later, he spoke of his life's stresses.

"Sunday evening been a f--king awful week but my friends have been great but now I have to some how pull myself together and finish," he wrote of his forthcoming show at Paris Fashion Week.

A longtime fashion innovator, the London-born McQueen got his start on the tony Savile Row, where he made custom suits for none other than Prince Charles and Mikhail Gorbachev.

The four-time British Designer of the Year, Commander of the British Empire and International Designer of the Year, who was known as both the " enfant terrible " of the fashion world as well as the "hooligan of English fashion," quickly became a celebrity favorite.

He has regularly dressed Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwen Stefani, Kate Moss, Madonna, Naomi Campbell, Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Mischa Barton, Sienna Miller, Fergie, Nicole Kidman and just about every fashion-oriented star of the last two decades. Sandra Bullock most recently picked up her Screen Actors Guild Award in one of his designs . He also helped launch the career of a pre-reality show Christian Siriano.

"He was the most brilliant designer of his generation and his influence can be seen in the way that women dressed over the last 15 years," British Vogue 's editor-in-chief, Alexandra Shulman, said in a statement. "It is an incredible loss not only for British fashion but for fashion the world over."

A spokesman for London's Metropolitan Police said they were called to McQueen's house just after 10 a.m. this morning. Paramedics declared him dead upon their arrival, but did not address reports that his cause of death was hanging.

"A post mortem examination and inquest will take place in due course," they said. "The death is being treated as non-suspicious."

McQueen's showing at New York Fashion Week, scheduled for today at 3 p.m., has since been canceled.

Pearl Talk

Baby's Breath

This is just too cute for words!

I DONT KNOW WHY?

Sometimes you find things that you just fall in love with. For me, that means seeing a gorgeous pair of Italian leather heels. the smell of new shoes beets anything else, its better than a rose and better than the taste of cake. Sometimes you cant control what you like, its what you crave, or what you want to do. This picture, i don't know why i fell in love with it, but i did. To me it shows strength, and power. But for some reason I see love and companionship.
You cant control what you love. All i can say, is keep loving it!
WHAT DO YOU SEE IN THE PICTURE?-comment?

who said different was wrong????

Do you choose who you are. the answer is no. you don't choose which family you were born into, but you can choose something. actually you have the choice to do many things. one being style. who ever said beige was the classy way to go?? i personally think that color create fashion. icons are made from people who love someones style. except you can be an icon without anyone liking your style. everyone is different, no matter how much people try to throw away that truth, it is everlasting. you choose what you want to wear. so choose something that is different from what someone else is wearing. because wearing something that everyone is wearing is not original and BORING! you shine in your own was. i don't even think different exists. people just call something that is not common different. but it is not bad, actually it shows that you are strong and bold. keep that about you. so, who said different was wrong??????????

BE YOU, NOT WHAT IS IN STYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mixed Prints
Afraid your ikat will clash with your plaids or stripes will upset your florals? Well, fear not, for this season anything goes. Mix and match your most colorful pieces and let your imagination run free.
Couture Clogs
Not just for hippies anymore, this boho wonder was made chic by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Céline's Phoebe Philo, and Louis Vuitton. Clogs are the new must-have footwear (and comfy to boot!).
Red Hot Lips
There were crimson-stained moues aplenty on the runway. The shocking yet sexy shade screamed old-world style for models everywhere from Dior to Bottega Veneta.
Designer Denim
Blue-jean baby. Broken-in jeans were shown with élan in New York (Ralph Lauren doing it distressed), Milan (D&G mastering the look), and Paris (Stella McCartney showing the fabric in several skirt styles). We're even seeing acid wash make a return -- hello, '80s.
Nautical Stripes
Get in line with spring's most linear look: classic stripes. Blue and white are best, but you can pull off the Breton-inspired trend with any color combo.
Copper Tones
Not only did designers look to burnished bronze shades for spring, but the autumnal hue also popped up as a fun nail polish.Fantastical Florals
Garden motifs have sprouted up again this season, with flowered patterns in full bloom. Add some painterfly florals to your wardrobe, especially if you typically don't mix it up with prints.
Pastel Eyes that Pop
The '80s trend has moved to makeup, with a palette of icy blues, purples, and other sorbet shadows for spring.

Room Ideas.........anyone?

dont hate me because i havnt written on my blog in like...forever! i am so sorry. i am having a huge melt down. i have no idea what i want (colours, ect) for my new room, and my mom is decorating TOMMOROW! PLUS i am so nervous for our term exams next week. eeeekkkkkk. just talking about it makes my stomack hurt. except my friend just gave me this amazing and really calming CD that i played and it calmed me down a lot. the sounds of foreing flutes are really soothing.

back to my room, i think i may paint all my walls white, except for one. i think i may paint it either electric blue, or in that family. i got that idea from sex and the city the movie. the color of Carrie (SJP) dress is more or less the color. or a light aqua. i was inspired from the movie aquamarine. her room is outstanding. plus her bathroom is pink so i am doing it pink! but i have to work with my white furniture, and it would be nice to keep my pillows. which are the same aqua i am considering for my one focus wall. i have an eekkkky beige carpet that i want to kill, that i also have to work with.
to my one reader, Emily, do you have any ideas for my room? if so please leave a comment with your imagineation and vision for my room!

i need all the help i can get!

always love,

L

China Fashion week

Click on the link below to see some insane but really cool and pretty designs, hair, makeup, and much much more from China fashion week.

javascript:oKExp.pgPopUp('stylelist-stylelist_china_fashion_week')

This is what www.stylelist.com had to say about it...Designers who show in Paris have always been considered among the most avant garde in the world, but China Fashion Week took it to a new level recently with its kooky creations that included a polka dotted body suit affixed with clocks, a comic book-esque checkered jumpsuit with cat ears and paws, and colorful Harajuku girl-inspired ensembles (replete with stuffed animals of course). There was also a smattering of walking metal art sculptures and candy colored confections with matching tights!

But while the designs tended to skew more funny than fabulous, not all was lost. There was a nod to the ever-so-prominent military trend (this is a communist country after all) and edgier silhouettes emerged with the sculpted shoulder jackets (a la Balmain). Eat your heart out Alexander McQueen!

Versace Pre-Fall Spring 2010.

Here are my first fashion looks of the new year, Cheers!
OMG look at these two new looks from the designer Versace. this is Versace Pre-Fall Spring 2010 collection.

The Inspiration for these two looks, were apparently Japanese Techno.

Here is some information i found on www.Stylelist.com...
---------------------------------------------------------
Top Looks: Long-sleeved Japanese printed mini-dress with power shoulders; Jean-blue suit, with skin-tight front lace-up jeans; Laminated aqua mini-dress with lace inset; Black bodice cocktail dress with asymmetrical pleated skirt

Accessories: Platform round toe pumps, lace-ups and slouch boots. All in either black, navy, electric blue, red, or a combo there of. Colorful handbags, including a graphic printed snake skin carry-all. In the jewelry department, a graphic necklace and colorful stacked bangles.

What we thought: Though this collection was only 17 looks long, Donatella Versace made each one of them count. The body conscious silhouettes were young and edgy, like Versace's Spring collection. (Perhaps the influence of the Versus designer, Christopher Kane?)

The palette consisted of sherbert and pure colors (both trends for Pre-Fall 2010) and Japanese prints. Hemlines were asymmetrical, often half-pleated. Fabrics were shiny and laminated. True to the inspiration, there was a hard technical quality to the clothes-with little softness. But the most beautiful looks mixed both-namely the bustier goddess dresses with pleated chiffon skirts.

-----------------------------------------------------

Aren't these two looks so different but so amazingly fun and luscious. i have always adored Versace and these two looks are very particle for everyday wear, not so interesting and artistic that you can not even wear it! i love them soooooo much. i know what i will be asking for on my next birthday. LOL.

just look at the first ensembles leggings-tights-pants. they are so amazing. They make her legs look so high fashion-able. And check out the shoes. i think i just died and saw heaven!

Please be sure check out www.stylelist.com for more info.

Welcome 2010!

2009 is over and 2010 kicked its but and say "its my turn!" well, whats your new years resolution? mine is being grateful for what i have. the reason i am telling you this is because i want others to enjoy what they have. which other kids are in the hospital you are probably watch the Fashion Network or sketching in your sketch book. my inspiration for my resolution is my best friend in the whole wide world. she was diagnosed with a disease at the age of 11. fortunately she not in the hospital right now but she still has to take pills and stuff. she is the bravest person i know and the prettiest girl ever. she wants to be a model and i think she definitely will be. plus check out her blog at www.modelontheloouse.blogspot.com. its spectacular. so remember if you start whining about your last season Jimmy Choo's, stop because other people have bigger problems. so breath, and keep moving.

whats your new years resolution. ( P.S my second one is to get healthier.)

BLAST FROM THE PAST!

O.K. hold it. have you ever had that felling in the pit of your stomach like whoa. well, when i was searching vintage clothing on Google images i found this "prom" dress. my heart fell to the floor. the floral/ neon prints are amazingly in style and super fun. if you don't already know, vintage took a huge place in 2009 fashion trends. almost every designer was inspired by an early 8o's look; and in the beauty section, the red lips were seen everywhere on the red carpet. fashion is forever, trends are not. but trends come and go, over and over again. no trend is ever lost in a fashion memoir black hole; they just may not be the "it" thing at the moment. do not fear, almost every past trend finds its way back into style. so please do not be like my mother and toss every fashionable piece from the 80's, keep them! lucky i was able to snatch up some of her old jewelry, and let me tell you; i where them everyday!
So back to the dress. right when i saw it i knew i had to blog about it. it was a cause for a blog post. on the cover of the new Teen Vogue issue of February 2010, the star of Gossip Girl Jessica Szohr is on the cover. she is rocking the neon Hot 2 Trot dress designed by Max Azria and killer Alexander Wang boots. do not fear, you don't have to be stunning like her to pull off a dress like that, all you have to have is the confidence to wear it. Jessica said to Teen Vogue that the clothes she wore were " funky, fresh, and fabulous." They definitely were fabulous and it is o.k to wear funky clothes sometimes; like the 80's prom dress. which is defiantly a BLAT FROM THE PAST!

All About Me!!

Hello, my name is leah and i am 13 years old. i love high fashion and i love the arts. when i am older i want to be an art director at teen vogue. part of the reason i want to do that is because i would like to show the world what i can do! i just recently moved to a new country and let me tell you it is not at all easy. i used to watch movies and TV shows with people who have moved and well the truth is.... its not at all like that. you don't just walk into your new school and automatically make friends. to be honest i have been living here for maybe 5 months or more and i still have not found anyone that comes close to replacing my old friends. my best friend emily and i ski every weekend together which does help with the move. school here is super hard and i HATE it. So just to get through the day without starting to cry I imagine school as design school. if you don't like school try doing that trick, and if you love fashion you will find it makes things a lot easier. I love Emma Roberts and i envy Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. she has my dream life. I read Teen Vogue in the back of the school bus because it helps me get through the terrible feeling of going to school. at least I have something that some people don't have and that is... AMAZING 3 best friends and a great family. I really want to go to F.I.T school in NYC when I am older to study fashion design with my besties. (I already know what our apartement is going to look like.) My favorite designers would be Betsey Johnson, Valentino, Pucci, Marc Jacob's, and so so so many more. In shoes I have fat feet which makes it hard to fit into desinger shoes but I love luboutains, jimmy choo, and so so so many more.
